v1.7.59October 2026Current
One switch stops every report
A release where turning off usage and error reports stops every report in every part of the app, a scan that could not finish says so instead of giving an all-clear, undo puts your taskbar and Start menu pins back, and the chat asks before every repair.
- Turning off the usage and error reports switch, in Settings or at the end of setup, now stops every kind of report at once: usage reports, app analytics, error reports and their replays, and the AI model and graphics speed pack download reports, in every part of the app, including parts that were already running. Nothing recorded while it was off is sent after you turn it back on, and turning it off is not itself reported. The replay of the moments before an error is now recorded only when an error happens, never for a whole session.
- The switch is now called 'Share usage and error reports', and Settings shows the choice that is really saved. When the app cannot save your choice, the switch goes back to the setting still stored and Settings says the change could not be saved, and when it cannot read your choice, it says so and offers Try again instead of showing the switch as off. The app's own descriptions of what it sends, in setup, Settings, model setup, the feedback form and the chat, now say plainly what is sent and what stays on your PC.
- A scan that could not finish no longer ends with an all-clear. The chat says the scan stopped before it could finish and that nothing on your PC was changed, and offers to try again, and a scan that finished only partly names the checks it could not finish. The repair for the Windows management database now trusts the result Windows reports, so a damaged database is no longer called healthy, and when the app cannot confirm which drive Windows runs from, it says so instead of calling a drive your main drive.
- The chat now asks before every repair, including a single low-risk fix and the repair it suggests when a check finds nothing, and a waiting repair runs only when you answer yes or pick it from the list. When your PC is offline, the chat offers only repairs that work without internet, such as the system file scan, and says when a deeper repair needs an internet connection.
- Undo after a taskbar repair now puts your taskbar pins back, and undo after a Start menu repair puts your Start menu pins and layout back, though the taskbar can keep showing the repaired layout until you sign out and back in or restart. These repairs, and the notification and Office activation repairs, now show that undo covers only part of what they do, and the app says what undo puts back before you use it. Undo also works now when your Windows user folder name has an accented letter or a typographic apostrophe.
- Screen readers now announce the chat message box and the switches in Settings and setup by name, every on/off switch in Settings and setup shows a visible ring when it has keyboard focus, and repair reports in History, and snapshot details in technician mode, can be reached with Tab and opened with Enter or Space.
