Elevation and honesty
Choose how SimpleFixAI asks for administrator permission, plan-only provably changes nothing, and undo verifies every step.
- You now choose how SimpleFixAI handles administrator permissions, and it remembers your choice. Run as administrator relaunches the app with rights once so repairs stop asking every time. Ask every time is the default and behaves exactly as before. Plan only shows you the full repair plan without changing a single thing
- Run as administrator removes the permission prompt, not the safety net. Every repair still takes its snapshot first, undo still works, and anything that needs a restart, touches several areas, or carries real risk still asks you before it runs
- Plan only mode is now guaranteed to change nothing. Every repair stops at a dry-run check before it could touch your system, so a preview provably leaves everything exactly as it was
- Undo is more honest. In our own testing we found a long-standing bug where a restore step could quietly fail while undo still reported success. Undo now verifies every step and tells you plainly if something could not be restored, so a reported undo is a real one
- No more false all-clear. Checks that need administrator rights, like drive health, boot configuration, the Windows component store, and Defender status, now say not checked (needs administrator) instead of quietly reading as healthy
