SimpleFixAI 1.7.10: cleaner uninstall, honest slow-startup detection, and a calmer repair view
Version 1.7.10 cleans up fully when you uninstall, adds honest slow-startup detection, steadies the built-in chat, and makes repair progress calmer to read.
SimpleFixAI 1.7.10 is a cleanup and reliability release. Nothing about how repairs work has changed. What changed is that the app leaves your disk cleaner when you remove it, tells you the truth about a slow startup for the first time, keeps its chat steadier, and shows repair progress in a way that is calmer to read.
Uninstalling now leaves your disk clean
SimpleFixAI downloads a local AI model the first time you run it, so your repairs are worked out on your own machine with no cloud. Until now, uninstalling the app removed the program but left that model and some other files behind. One person found about 10 GB still sitting on their drive after they thought they had removed the app.
That is fixed. Uninstalling now also removes the downloaded model and the other files SimpleFixAI can recreate, so it no longer leaves several gigabytes behind. Your repair history, undo backups, and settings are kept unless you choose to delete the application data during uninstall. And auto-updates never touch your model or your data. The cleanup only happens on a real uninstall.
Honest slow-startup detection
SimpleFixAI can now tell when your PC is slow to start up or restart. It reads your boot history truthfully instead of guessing, and if it has not measured your startup yet, it says so rather than inventing a number. When your startup really is slow, it explains the likely causes and what to do about them.
This is detection and guidance, not an automatic fix. SimpleFixAI will not pretend a script can repair failing hardware. It tells you what it sees and what your options are, in plain English.
A calmer repair view
During and after a repair, SimpleFixAI now shows one clear status line instead of a wall of technical output. The full technical detail is still there, one click away, whenever you want it. The safety rule is absolute: anything that fails, needs a restart, or needs your attention always surfaces on its own and is never hidden behind the summary. Repair animations now respect the Windows reduced-motion setting for anyone who prefers less movement on screen.
Steadier chat
The built-in AI is more reliable in this release, especially the first question you ask on a larger PC, which can take a moment longer while the model warms up. SimpleFixAI now tells you when that is happening instead of quietly giving up, and it never shows raw or garbled text in the chat window.
